From making a small donation in response to an appeal in the past 20 years ago, to the decision to leave a bequest to Tafta in her Will, Mrs C is one of our most loyal supporters.
She describes the staff at Tafta as ‘unsung heroes’ and believes that the government is not doing nearly enough for its old people. “Private funding is required,” she says. “Elderly people are last in the queue when a donation is considered. Children and animals seem to take precedence. But we owe our elderly the care and respect to live their lives with dignity.
“The important thing is to find time to sit, talk and listen. That old wrinkled body was once a vibrant, energetic young person, with many interesting stories to recount. So, take the time and LISTEN.”
