Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our Trail Run on Sunday November 19. More than 450 runners were treated to perfect weather conditions for tackling the picturesque eco route through Virginnia nature reserve.
“It was a fantastic morning, made all the more special by the fabulous turnout. The donations of toiletries for our elderly folk went above and beyond what we had hoped for. Each and every person who participated made an invaluable contribution to helping us raise awareness and meet the costs of caring for our vulnerable and frail elderly residents,” said Gail Samuels, Divisional manager; Income Development, Marketing and Public Relations.
The first male to cross the 8km finish line was Claude Eksteen, followed by James Meredith in second place and Jeff Maingard, in third. In the 8km female category, Trish Eksteen topped the ladies, with Danella Arrigo in second place and Catherine Robertson third. Preneel Nundkumar won the 4km male category with Daniel Smith in second place and Brett Challenor in third place, while the female category saw Jenna Challenor finish in first place followed by her daughter Rylee-kai Challenor and Emily Macquet third.
All proceeds from the Trail Run contribute towards providing a three course meal to Tafta elders during the festive period.
Supporters who were unable to attend the event can still sponsor one or more Christmas lunches.
