Our first virtual fundraiser, which was streamed live on Facebook on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July, was a big success.
No fewer than 14 artists – comprising singers, dancers, DJs, radio and television personalities, magicians and comedians – performed free of charge to keep our audience glued to their devices throughout the show, which raised over R50 000 towards the care of elders at Tafta. We were especially touched by these artists’ willingness to give freely of their time and talent during lockdown, when their own livelihoods were on hold.
The event also led to a surge in popularity of our Facebook page with over 400 new followers.
To all the artists who made our Live Fundraiser a success, we thank you for your participation and commitment. Our sincere gratitude goes to every viewer and donor who showed their support and pledged toward our cause. The funds raised through your contributions will go toward serving the needs of elderly in our care.
We hope you enjoyed the entertainment provided and that we will have your support in our next online event.
