Humphrey the dog is no stranger to pain and fear. Before he was adopted by his present owner, he was hit by a car and left to die.
Perhaps as a result of having his own life saved by a kind human, Humphrey has developed into the ideal therapy dog – friendly, patient, confident and gentle. He loved being stroked and petted by the elders at Tafta on Ridge, and they thoroughly enjoyed his visit. When you think about it, it’s hardly surprising – we all crave the companionship of a friend who accepts us unconditionally, especially when times are hard or we feel lonely and left out.
