Lions North Durban – we thank you

By: | Tags:

We pay tribute to the Lions North Durban and their president, Kim Van Wyk, for the incredible support they give to our Tafta Elders. Lions North has been delivering 120 food parcels at Ray Hullett and now Langelar Towers for over 20 years. Moreover, they have provided eye tests and glasses to most of the Tafta residents for more than a decade, and hosted a braai at Tafta on Ridge every year on Heritage Day. Thank you sincerely for the difference you make in the lives of Durban’s elders.

Thank you for helping us change lives

By 2050, more than 2 billion people in the world will be 60 or older, which means we need to pay even more attention to the challenges faced by the elderly, and there are challenges aplenty. No one can argue with the need for workers – especially domestic and farm workers – to be protected from exploitation. But the country can’t afford to shed more jobs. And with the number of business liquidations having increased by 53% between April 2018 and April 2019, shouldn’t small businesses and NPOs at least be exempt from the […]

Annual General Meeting

Tafta AGM on 26 September

By: | Tags:

Tafta’s 60th Annual General Meeting took place at Anna Conradie Wellness Centre on 26 September 2019. Guests included the elders we serve, who showed keen interest as leaders of the organisation took them through the year end results. As we reflected on the business of operating Tafta, we were reminded that a good combination of head and heart is needed to ensure that we continue to provide a service which is relevant, and that we respond to the needs in a way that does not compromise our ability to support […]
