2018 Trail Run draws crowds

More than 350 fitness enthusiasts braved the wet weather to participate in Tafta’s popular annual Trail Run. Runners had the choice of two distances – 4km and 8km – with both routes taking participants along the little known ‘green’ corridors of Virginia Bush. Despite its proximity to the City, this nature area is a haven of cool paths beneath a green canopy of natural forest, filled with birdsong. Tell my Story winners announced

On Friday 16 November, the winners of the Tafta TellMyStory schools’ competition were announced at the Windermere Centre, where the finalists’ work had been on exhibition that week. The competition, which is annually hosted by Tafta and is open to all its elders and community club members, is aimed at reawakening the love of story-telling and reading in the elderly. Eviction of Mr Glen Chapman

As previously confirmed, The Association for the Aged (Tafta) has complied with the court order to evict Mr Chapman on the agreed upon date. Mr Chapman was notified of his eviction and given adequate time to make alternate accommodation arrangements with family, friends, and other welfare organisations within due course. Tafta remains committed to the safety and security of Tafta elders, and once again, the decision to launch legal proceedings against Mr Chapman was done out of the necessity to protect the Tafta elders in our care.
