End to unauthorised grant deductions a sign of relief for the elderly

The recent press release by the Minister of Social Development is a ray of sunshine after many many months of frustration, heartache and disappointment experienced by pensioners who have had money illegally deducted from their pensions. The Minister announced the publication of the revised Regulations to the Social Assistance Act. This will put an end to the tide of unauthorised and unlawful deductions and ensure better control of Sections 21 and 26A which deals with the payment environment.
