TAFTA retirement complexes, residences and blocks of flats are open to all persons over the age of 60. Applicants must have been a permanent resident in Durban for at least one year prior to applying, and should have a minimum income of a State Pension. If you do not have a State Pension, our social worker can help you apply.
At some of our residences, preference may be given to older persons with limited income who are frail or in dire need.
How to apply
Currently, all our homes and flats have waiting lists of varying lengths. To apply, please contact our Intake Social Worker on tel: +27 31 332 3721 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and make an appointment for an interview. During this process, you will be asked to complete forms (for which there is a an administration fee).
Your application will then be assessed by the screening committee and placed on the waiting list for the specific accommodation required. Urgent cases may be given preference. Please note that persons younger than 60 years of age may not apply to be put onto the waiting list.
