Each year Regent Harriers make a generous donation to charity, and TAFTA was one of two beneficiaries which each received R5000 from the group on Friday 16 January. Monkey Helpline was the other charity.
Regent Harriers is not a running club, but a group of about 500 runners and walkers who meet at 5.15 am 6 days of the week to keep fit and form friendships. We are so grateful to them for their generosity in raising funds for those in need – and in particular for choosing to support our efforts to care for elderly people in and around Durban.
Our Development & Public Relations officer, Kevin Hayes, was delighted to get a call notifying him of the donation and was there bright and early to accept the cheque from Alison Chadwick and a few other members of the Regent Harriers. Pictured from left to right are Alison Chadwick, Justin Hand, Kevin Hayes, Neil Aubert, Adrian Legg and Olivier (Olly) Maujean.
Kevin was so inspired by the group that we think Regents may be seeing more of him at 05h15!
